Washington, Jul 25: US President Donald Trump on Friday blamed Hamas for the failure of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, saying the Palestinian militant group had no real intention of reaching a deal.
"It was too bad. Hamas didn't really want to make a deal. I think they want to die," Trump told reporters, following the collapse of indirect talks involving Israel and the US.
He added, "Now we're down to the final hostages, and they know what happens after you get the final hostages. And basically because of that, they really didn't want to make a deal."
Both Israel and the United States recently withdrew from the negotiations, citing a lack of seriousness from the Hamas side.
