Mumbai (RBI), Jul 25: The Model Co-operative Bank Ltd has been conferred the ‘Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Utkrusht Urban Co-operative Bank Puraskar’ by The Maharashtra State Co-operative Banks’ Association Ltd, Mumbai at their 26th Annual Award Ceremony, held on July 23 at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai.
This prestigious award recognizes the Bank’s outstanding performance in the deposits category of Rs 1000 crore to Rs 1500 crore for the financial year 2023–24, under the Mumbai division.




The award ceremony was graced by Dr Pankaj Rajesh Bhoyar, minister of state for Home (Rural), Housing, Education, Co-operation, and Mining, Government of Maharashtra and Dr Vijay Suryawanshi (IAS), divisional commissioner, Konkan division, Konkan Bhavan, Navi Mumbai.
The certificate and trophy were jointly presented to the bank by Bhau Bhagwant Kad, chairman of ‘The Maharashtra State Co-operative Banks’ Association Ltd, Mumbai and Dr Vijay Suryavanshi (IAS), divisional commissioner, Konkan Division, Konkan Bhavan, Navi Mumbai.
The bank was represented by chairman Albert W D’Souza, vice chairman Maxim I Pinto, directors Paul Nazareth, Sanjay Shinde, general manager & CEO, Osden A Fonseca, and additional general manager Zenon D’Cruz.
The bank is a Financially Sound and Well Managed Bank (FSWM) as per the RBI criteria and its performance has been recognised over the years and it has been continuously receiving Awards.
