Florida (USA), Jul 25: WWE icon Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24, at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
Hogan was a transformative figure in professional wrestling, widely credited for globalizing WWE during the 1980s through the era known as ‘Hulkamania’. He rose to superstardom after clinching the WWF Championship in 1984 and immortalized himself with his iconic clash against Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III. He later revolutionized WCW with the formation of the nWo (New World Order) in the 1990s.

Outside the ring, Hogan appeared in the film Rocky III, starred in the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice – first in 2005 and then reinstated in 2020 following a temporary removal.
In recent years, he co-founded the Real American Freestyle wrestling promotion and also made headlines for his involvement in mainstream politics, including a notable appearance at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
Tributes have poured in from across the wrestling and political world.
Hogan is survived by his wife, Sky, whom he married in 2023, and his two children, Brooke and Nick.
