Manchester, Jul 21: India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is confirmed to play the fourth Test in Manchester starting Wednesday, pacer Mohammed Siraj revealed during a press interaction, ending days of uncertainty around Bumrah’s availability for the must-win clash.

"Jassi bhai will play as far as I know," Siraj stated, bringing much-needed relief to Indian fans as the team trails 1-2 in the five-match series.

Bumrah, who is being strategically managed through the series, featured in the first and third Tests — both losses for India — and is expected to spearhead the attack in the pivotal encounter.

However, the Indian camp continues to battle a growing injury list. Akash Deep has been diagnosed with a groin strain, while Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test following a left thumb injury sustained during a net session. In response, Anshul Kamboj has been drafted in as cover.

Adding to the setbacks, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been ruled out of the remainder of the series due to a left knee injury. Nitish, who missed the first Test but contributed at Lord’s, will return home. His exit could pave the way for Shardul Thakur to return to the playing XI.

Siraj acknowledged the constant shuffle in India's pace lineup but remained optimistic:

"Combination is changing, but we need to bowl in good areas. The plan is simple — stick to good areas."

With several key players sidelined, India faces a stiff challenge heading into Manchester. But Bumrah's return could prove to be the boost the team needs to level the series.
