Gurugram tragedy: Drug-addicted son kills mother for refusing Rs 20

Gurugram, Jul 20: In a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves across Haryana’s Nuh district, a 56-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her own son after she reportedly refused to give him just Rs 20.

The chilling incident occurred on Saturday in Jaisinghpur village. The accused, identified as Jamshed, allegedly attacked his mother, Rajiya, with an axe in a fit of rage, leading to her instantaneous death, police sources confirmed.

Jamshed, who is said to be a long-time drug addict, reportedly consumes substances like marijuana and opium. On the fateful night, he demanded Rs 20 from his mother. When she declined, he turned violent and allegedly hacked her to death.

Shockingly, after committing the heinous act, Jamshed remained inside the same house overnight with his mother’s lifeless body. The incident came to light the next morning, following which police reached the spot and took the accused into custody.

According to officials, a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The body of the deceased was handed over to relatives after a post-mortem examination.

Adding to the family’s tragedy, it was revealed that Rajiya had lost her husband Mubarak just four months ago. Locals expressed sorrow over the heartbreaking incident and said the family had been reeling under emotional and financial strain.

Authorities have urged the public to stay vigilant and report instances of drug abuse and domestic violence before they escalate into such irreversible crimes.
