Agra, Jul 19: A 47-year-old woman was shot dead in broad daylight in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra while returning home from a court hearing on Friday. Police suspect her husband’s involvement in the murder, citing an ongoing legal dispute between the couple.

The victim, Manju, had attended a court hearing related to a maintenance case she had filed against her husband, Manoj. She was shot in the Fatehabad area soon after the hearing, officials said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Amardeep said, “The incident took place in the Fatehabad area. Currently, the husband is suspected of the murder, and a search for him is underway.”

The couple had reportedly been married for around 15 years and were embroiled in a prolonged legal battle over financial maintenance.

Manju’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is ongoing. Police said all angles are being probed, but Manoj remains the prime suspect.
