Dakshina Kannada residents lauded for commitment to tax payment by Vijayapura DC

Mangaluru, Jul 18: The people of Dakshina Kannada district display exemplary commitment and integrity in paying government dues, including property tax, said Dr K Anand, former chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat and current deputy commissioner of Vijayapura.

He was speaking at a farewell and welcome function organised at the Netravati auditorium of the zilla panchayat on Friday.

“The district ranks first in the state in terms of tax collection. Dakshina Kannada offers a conducive work environment for government employees. Despite staff shortages in several departments, public service delivery remains efficient,” he noted.

Dr Anand emphasised that it is the duty of government employees to address citizens’ issues promptly and explain rules in a simple and clear manner.

New zilla panchayat CEO Narwade Vinayak Karbhari sought the cooperation of all officials and staff.

Deputy commissioner Darshan H V and superintendent of police Dr Arun K appreciated the outgoing CEO’s working style. DCP Mithun H N and additional deputy commissioner Santosh Kumar were also present.

Pilikula commissioner Dr Arun Kumar Shetty, district health officer Dr Thimmayya, Lady Goschen superintendent Dr Durgakumar, zilla panchayat planning director Jayaram, AYUSH officer Dr Muhammad Iqbal, and others offered their best wishes.

Zilla panchayat planning officer Sandhya welcomed the gathering, assistant director Mahesh compered the programme, and Shakuntala proposed the vote of thanks.
