Udupi, Jul 16: St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School, (CBSE), Udupi radiated with reverence and celebration as students and faculty celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and commemorated Founder’s Day. The event was a harmonious blend of spiritual devotion, artistic expression, and communal togetherness, perfectly highlighting the essence of the feast day.

The kindergarten students marked the feast with their childlike innocent warmth and excitement beginning with the prayer song God’s Love invoking Mother Mary’s choicest blessings. This was followed by a dedicated graceful dance choreographed to highlight her virtues and presence.

A warm welcome and a reflective introduction to the significance of the feast set a contemplative and joyful tone for the program. The audience was enchanted by the UKG children’s captivating tableau titled “Mount Carmel,” depicting Mother Mary amidst angels -a portrayal that deeply touched the hearts of all present.

Students of Grade 8 also presented a thoughtful programme to the audience from Grades 3 to 10. A forerunner of this festivity was the Class Bulletin Board Decoration competition on the theme Carmel Feast, where each class creatively expressed their devotion and reverence through visually inspiring and appealing decorations.

The main celebration began with a devotional prayer service and a mesmerising dance in honour of Mother of Carmel. Jia Kanchan extended a warm welcome to the chief guest Grace Pinto, Sr Priya A C (KG Coordinator), principal, Sr Lathika A C, teachers and students.

Then unveiled a rich sequence of presentations which included a skit on virtues of Mother Mary, an informative video on significance of the feast and a melodious greeting song.

In her address, the chief guest lauded the students for their meaningful and inspiring presentation and urged them all to imbibe the virtues of Mother Mary in their lives. She also distributed prizes to the winners of the Bulletin Board Decoration competition.

The principal, in her address, shared insights on Ven. Mother Veronica of the Passion, the founder of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation under whose vision the school continues to flourish.

The flow of the event was beautifully weaved by talented emcees - Thanvit and Sanvi Shenoy with the vote of thanks delivered by Felon.

Mount Carmel Feast celebration not only deepened the spiritual foundation of the Cecilian community but also instilled values that will blossom in the hearts of its young learners for years to come.
