Beltangady, Jul 12: Dr Ganavi D, assistant professor in the department of chemistry at SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire, has been awarded a PhD for her research thesis titled ‘Synthesis and Biological Activity Studies of Some Simple and Fused Nitrogenous Heterocycles’.
She successfully presented her doctoral dissertation under the guidance of Prof Bhoja Poojary, head of the department of chemistry at Mangalore University. The PhD was conferred upon her on July 11, in the presence of Dr Hariprasad S, senior professor in the department of chemistry at Bengaluru City University, who evaluated the research.
Dr Ganavi D hails from Lalithanagar, Ujire, and is the wife of Uday Jain, who serves as an accounts officer at the Dharmasthala temple office.
