Mumbai, Jul 12: As part of the religious events marking the centenary celebrations of BSKB Association, Gokul, the Rig Samhita Yaga organised by the Gopalkrishna Public Trust began auspiciously on Friday, July 11. The yaga will continue till Saturday, July 19.
Eminent Vedic scholars from Chennai and Udupi — Narayana Acharya, Srinivasa Achar, Vitthala Achar, Vamana Achar, Raghavendra Achar, Manohar Achar, Vedavyasa Achar, and Daregudde Srinivasa Bhat — conducted a series of sacred rituals. These included devata prarthane (invocation of deities), kruchacharana, vipra swagat, punyahavachana, nandi samaradhane, acharya varane, vastu puje, mandapa samskara, kunda samskara, agni janana, kushmanda homa, ankurarpane, kautuka bandhana, sarvatobhadra mandala and chakrabja mandala pujas. The rituals were performed in strict accordance with Vedic tradition under the yajamanship of trust vice president Vaman Holl and Jayalakshmi Holl couple, along with general secretary Anantapadmanabha Poti and Sahana Poti couple.





As a complement to the yaga, a Pavamana Homa was conducted under the guidance of Vedic scholar Vasudeva Bhat, with sponsorship and yajamanship by Treasurer Ganesh Bhat and Shubha Bhat couple.
Also present on the occasion were treasurer Haridas Bhat, members of the religious committee, members of the Executive Committee of BSKB Association, and devotees. Teertha prasada and annaprasada were distributed to all attendees.
Over the next seven days, the yaga will continue with various religious activities each day. Evening sessions from 5 pm onwards will feature devotional songs, bhajans, religious discourses, and Ashtavadhana performances. The concluding rituals will be held on Saturday, July 19, with the poornahuti marking the completion of the yaga.
