Mumbai, Jul 11: A day after multiple gunshots were fired at comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly inaugurated cafe in Canada, a team from Mumbai Police visited his residence at DLH Enclave in the Oshiwara area on Friday.

According to a senior official quoted by PTI, the visit was primarily to confirm Sharma’s address. “The police team left shortly after verifying the address. No statement was recorded, and no additional security was deployed around the building,” the official added.

The incident in question occurred in the early hours of Thursday at ‘Kap’s Cafe’, located along the border of Surrey and Delta in British Columbia. Surrey Police Service (SPS) responded to the shooting around 1:50 am local time and confirmed that shots were fired at the café while staff were inside. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Kap’s Cafe, which was inaugurated on July 4, issued an emotional statement following the attack. “To have violence intersect with our dream is heartbreaking. We are still processing this shock but we are not giving up,” the cafe shared on Instagram.

The message thanked supporters for their kind words and urged the community to stand together against violence. “Let’s ensure Kap’s Cafe remains a place of warmth and community,” the post added.

Investigations into the shooting are ongoing, while fans and well-wishers continue to express solidarity with the comedian and his team.
