Record Attendance at Australian Open


Melbourne, Jan 30 (IANS): The 2012 Australian Open witnessed a record attendance: 686,006 fans at the Melbourne Park.

The figure smashed the previous record attendance of 653,860 of 2010.

The Jan 21 attendance also broke the all-time daily record of a Grand Slam event. There were 80,649 fans on site, up from 77,121 in 2011.
