Bengaluru, July 9: Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal secretary to Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, has been arrested in Bengaluru in connection with a Rs 77 lac fraud case, police confirmed.
The Juhu police in Mumbai registered the case after Alia Bhatt’s mother, actress-director Soni Razdan, lodged a complaint on January 23, 2025. Vedika, 32, is accused of embezzling approximately Rs 76.9 lac from the accounts of Bhatt’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd., and the actress herself between May 2022 and August 2024.

Police sources revealed that Vedika worked as Alia Bhatt’s personal secretary from 2021 to 2024, managing financial records and the actress’s schedule. During this time, she allegedly forged financial bills, secured Alia’s signature on fake documents, and diverted funds into friends’ accounts.
After the complaint, Vedika fled Mumbai and was reportedly moving locations frequently. She was finally tracked down and arrested in Bengaluru. She has since been transferred back to Mumbai for further investigation.
The police are continuing their probe into the extent of the fraud and potential accomplices in this high-profile case.
