The decision was made after discussions with the assistant commissioner of Puttur and the block education officer of Beltangady. Key measures announced: Holiday on June 26 for all Anganwadi centres, government, aided, and unaided primary and high schools in Beltangady taluk. Parents have been advised to prevent children from entering low-lying, waterlogged areas or going near ponds, streams, and riverbanks. Taluk and panchayat-level officers have been directed to remain at headquarters and carry out disaster management duties without fail. Incident Commanders appointed in each gram panchayat and ward are to stay alert, respond promptly to public grievances, and maintain continuous coordination with the Taluk Control Room. Tourists and the general public have been warned against venturing near rivers or streams.
