New deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K welcomed by Udupi Diocese

Udupi, Jun 23: The newly appointed deputy commissioner of Udupi district, Swaroopa T K, was warmly welcomed by a delegation from the Udupi Diocese. On this occasion, the delegation also extended greetings to the newly arrived superintendent of police, Hariram Shankar.

Representing the Christian community of the district, the delegation conveyed the blessings and best wishes of Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of the Diocese of Udupi. They assured full cooperation from the diocese in all matters related to administration and development.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K expressed her gratitude and emphasised the importance of learning about the institutions and contributions of the Christian community in the district. She assured that the district administration would be responsive and cooperative wherever assistance is needed. She also sought the community’s active participation in the overall development of the district.

The delegation included Fr Steven D’Souza, chancellor of the Diocese; Fr Denis D’Sa, public relations officer and Prashanth Jathanna, state president of the All India Christian Federation and director of the Christian Development Corporation.
