India denies use of its airspace in US strikes on Iran

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 23: India has firmly rejected claims circulating on social media that its airspace was used by US fighter jets to launch strikes on Iranian nuclear sites during ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’.

In a post on X, the Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit clarified, “Several social media accounts have claimed that Indian Airspace was used by the United States to launch aircrafts against Iran during Operation #MidnightHammer. This claim is FAKE.”

The denial comes after the US, led by President Donald Trump, carried out airstrikes on three key nuclear sites in Iran early Sunday, warning of further action if Tehran retaliates.

Reiterating the clarification, PIB Fact Check added, “Indian Airspace was NOT used by the United States during Operation #MidnightHammer.”

It also referred to a statement by US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Dan Caine, who had outlined the actual route used by American aircraft during the mission.
