Yoga Day celebrated at MSNIM with theme 'One Earth, One Health'

Mangaluru, Jun 22: International Yoga Day 2025 was jointly organised by Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), Yuvanika Foundation, UN Volunteers India, Health Volunteers, and Delampady Yoga Prathistana on the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ at MSNIM, Mangaluru, Karnataka.

Raghuveer Souterpete from Yuvanika Foundation, in his introductory remarks, highlighted the importance of yoga in shaping resilient young minds, fostering both mental strength and physical well-being.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Mohammed Iqbal, District AYUSH officer, Government of Karnataka. In his address, he emphasized that yoga is a holistic discipline rooted in the eightfold path of Ashtanga Yoga. He stressed that yoga goes beyond physical exercise, nurturing mental clarity and inner harmony, and urged students to embrace it as a journey toward self-awareness and overall well-being.

Chief guest Rishi Banshiwal, founder of Health Volunteers India, addressed the rising global health challenges and emphasized yoga as a powerful tool for both personal well-being and national health. He encouraged the youth to adopt yoga as a daily practice for a healthier and more balanced life.

On his behalf, a message from Sushil Chaudhary, country coordinator, United Nations Volunteers India, New Delhi, was shared on the occasion of International Yoga Day. He conveyed his best wishes and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the organizers in conducting the yoga program.

Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, president of the programme and director of MSNIM, shared insights on ‘Yoga: A Journey of Discipline, Balance, and Self-Discovery.’ She described yoga as a path to mindful living and sustainable success, beautifully breaking down YOGA as Yearning, Optimisation, Growth, and Awareness a reflection of its deeper meaning. Concluding with the quote, ‘Inhale the future, exhale the past,’ she described yoga as India’s timeless gift to global well-being and conscious living.

The programme featured yoga instruction by Karthik Shetty and Harini from Delampady Yoga Prathistana; along with active participation from Prathvika and Danish of Yuvanika Foundation, Hithesh Bangera and Deekshith Naik from UN Volunteers India; faculty members, students, and Health Volunteers. Yogitha Shetty, assistant administrative officer coordinated the programme at MSNIM, also joined the occasion. The guests were warmly welcomed and introduced by Manasa, assistant professor, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Divya Achar, assistant professor. The proceedings were smoothly anchored by Keerthana K Shetty, president of the Student Council and a second-year MBA student at MSNIM.
