New Delhi, Jun 19: On the occasion of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a wave of greetings from across the political spectrum, extending his wishes to the newly-appointed Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister, in a gesture of political civility, took to social media to convey his wishes, stating, “Birthday greetings to Shri Rahul Gandhi. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed similar sentiments, writing on X, “Greetings to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Shri @RahulGandhi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”
The day also saw warm messages pour in from key opposition leaders and allies. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, in a heartfelt message, described Gandhi as a “brother-in-ideals” and hailed his leadership and courage. “Warm birthday wishes to my brother-in-ideals, @RahulGandhi—bound not by blood, but by thought, vision, and purpose. May you continue to stand firm and lead with courage. In our march towards a brighter India, victory shall be ours,” Stalin wrote.
Adding to the chorus of support, senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot praised Gandhi’s unwavering commitment to the marginalised sections of society. “The extent to which Rahul ji is fighting for the rights of the oppressed, deprived, Dalits, Tribals, backwards classes, and the poor among the upper castes in this country is truly unprecedented. It’s true social justice,” Gehlot said in his message, while urging Gandhi to take on a larger leadership role in safeguarding the Constitution and democracy.
As the Congress leader turned a year older, the outpouring of messages highlighted not just personal wishes but also a larger political endorsement from allies and party faithful, amid calls for a united front and strengthened opposition in Parliament.
