Political parties events to mourn Ahmedabad plane crash victims

Ahmedabad, Jun 13: In the wake of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad that claimed 241 lives, major political parties across the country, including the BJP, Congress, and Samajwadi Party, have cancelled all scheduled programmes as a mark of respect.

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary confirmed that all events planned for June 13, and some from June 12, have been cancelled in light of the national tragedy.

State Congress president Ajay Rai announced that the party’s events have been converted into shraddhanjali sabhas to honour the victims.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also called off all his public engagements for Friday.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has suspended all party functions for the next three days to pay tribute to the deceased and express solidarity with grieving families.
