Brahmavar: Youth drowns while fishing in river, body recovered after two days

Brahmavar, Jun 13: Tragedy struck near Kokkarna in Brahmavar as a young man lost his life after accidentally falling into the Sita river while fishing with friends. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Nayak (25), a resident of Nalkuru Miyar.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday evening when Ganesh, accompanied by a group of friends, was fishing by the riverbank. According to sources, he slipped and fell into the river’s strong currents and was swept away. Despite immediate search efforts, his whereabouts remained unknown until Thursday morning, when his body was discovered in Kodithal.

Ganesh was employed as a private bus driver and was known in the local community for his active involvement in the Shaurya unit.
