Mandd Sobhann to host children’s story translation workshop at Kalaangann on Jun 28-29

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 12: Mandd Sobhann, through its literary academy ‘Mitako’nn’, is taking a significant step towards enriching Konkani children’s literature by organizing a two-day children’s story translation workshop on June 28 and 29 at Kalaangann, commencing at 4:00 pm.

Recognizing the limited availability of children’s stories in Konkani, this workshop aims to expand literary resources by translating popular children’s stories into Konkani. Renowned writers will serve as resource persons, guiding participants through the technical aspects of translation.

Each participant is required to bring two stories from any language, which they will translate during the workshop. As an outcome of this initiative, Mandd Sobhann will publish selected stories, contributing to the growth of Konkani literature for young readers.

To ensure accessibility and participation, there will be no entry fee for the workshop. Additionally, the minimum age for participation is 18 years. Food and accommodation will be provided for all registered attendees.
