Bantwal: PSI suspended over alleged misconduct in illegal gambling case in Vittal

Bantwal, Jun 11: A police sub-inspector from Vittal police station has been suspended following allegations of misconduct related to an illegal gambling case that occurred on May 8, 2025.

According to reports, PSI Kaushik B C of Vittal police station had received information regarding an illegal gambling activity within his jurisdiction. Upon raiding the location, no individuals involved in gambling were found at the scene. However, a motorcycle was discovered at the spot.

Instead of initiating proper legal procedures, the PSI allegedly contacted the owner of the motorcycle and summoned him to the station. Later, an audio conversation allegedly demanding money related to the case through a third party surfaced on social media platforms.

Taking serious note of the incident, disciplinary action has been initiated, and PSI Kaushik B C was suspended from duty on May 12, 2025, pending departmental inquiry.
