Dhanush shares Dumpyard shoot experience with Rashmika in 'Kuberaa'

Mumbai, Jun 10: Tamil actor Dhanush, who stars alongside Telugu superstar Nagarjuna and actress Rashmika Mandanna in Sekhar Kammula's much-awaited film Kuberaa, has revealed a striking behind-the-scenes moment from the shoot — spending six to seven hours filming in a dumpyard.

Speaking at a musical event in Mumbai to launch the song Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum, Dhanush was asked about a memorable moment from the film's shoot. Recalling the experience, he said, "Rashmika and I shot in a dumpyard for six-seven hours," and added with a laugh, "Rashmika was alright. She was like, ‘I can’t smell anything.’”

Reflecting more seriously, the actor said, “I read things that we shot with masks… but it was not that big a deal. It was fine. But to see another part of the world, a side you're not exposed to… That was enlightening. We’re always in a comfort zone, protected. I come from very humble, rooted beginnings. This film took me back there, to that world. It was nostalgic and I’m really thankful for that.”

Dhanush also addressed a question about how he has avoided being typecast in his two-decade-long film career. “I am just like a processor, like a computer. My directors feed me the data. Most of the work they do; I just process it. All credit to the filmmakers I have worked with,” he humbly said.

Kuberaa, one of the most anticipated pan-Indian films, promises an emotional and powerful narrative with a stellar cast and Sekhar Kammula’s signature storytelling.
