Five boys paraded naked and humiliated for alleged theft in Bihar’s Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi, Jun 8: In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, five boys in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district were stripped, garlanded with slippers, and paraded naked after they were accused of stealing chocolates from a local grocery shop.

A video of the incident, which occurred on Thursday, went viral on social media, prompting swift police action. Authorities have since arrested the shopkeeper, his son, and another villager involved in the incident.

“The boys’ faces were also smeared with lime powder. It was alleged that the boys were beaten as well,” said Ramkrishna, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Sadar).

Police officials have assured that further investigation is underway and that the victims are being provided with necessary support and protection. The incident has drawn condemnation from activists and local residents, who have demanded strict punishment for those responsible.
