Bihar, Jun 6: In a shocking incident that has come to light from Mallahi village in Sitamarhi, Bihar, five young boys were subjected to public humiliation for allegedly stealing a chocolate bar. The children were reportedly stripped naked, tied together with a rope, and paraded through a local market, their faces smeared with white chalk and shame. To add to their ordeal, they were also garlanded with slippers.

The incident was orchestrated by the shop owner from whom the chocolate was allegedly stolen. A video circulating online shows the owner, wielding a stick, forcing the boys to state their names and their fathers' names on camera, even smacking one of them and ordering him to face the lens. He then declared, "All of them were caught stealing at my shop."

Bystanders, instead of intervening, reportedly mocked and teased the distressed children, some even filming the incident on their phones. "I only took one Snickers," one of the boys was heard saying.

The police initiated action only after the disturbing video went viral. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed, and the police confirmed, "Five children were stripped naked, garlanded with slippers and paraded in Mallahi village. The video of the incident went viral. We have taken note of it and filed an FIR."

Authorities have since arrested the shopkeeper and two other individuals involved in the incident. The Sitamarhi police also stated their intention to take action against the "mediaperson" who filmed the video, implying potential legal repercussions for those who documented the torture without intervening.
