Bengaluru, Jun 5: In a heart-breaking incident, CA Akshatha Pai, a native of Mulki near Mangaluru, and 19-year-old Chinmayi Shetty, daughter of Hebri Karunakar Shetty and Pooja Shetty from Tippasandra, Bengaluru, died in the stampede during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) celebration event held on Wednesday.

CA Akshatha Pai was one of the victims of the stampede. She was the daughter of Amrith Pai, who runs a shop opposite Shree Venkatramana Temple in Mulki. Akshatha Pai was pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA) in Bengaluru and was a gold medalist in the CA examination.

Akshatha had married engineer Ashay a year and a half ago. The couple was entering through Gate No. 17 when the stampede broke out. During the chaos, Akshatha got separated from her husband. While Ashay was rescued, Akshatha sadly lost her life. Her death was confirmed by her husband, who identified her by the RCB jersey she was wearing.

Chinmayi Shetty was pursuing her bachelor of engineering at Jyoti Engineering College on Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru. A talented student and a passionate Yakshagana learner at 'Yakshataranga Bengaluru (R)', she was also an accomplished basketball player.

“The untimely demise of such a bright and promising young talent has left her family, friends, and the Yakshagana community in deep sorrow. May her soul rest in peace. May the Almighty grant strength to her parents and loved ones to bear this profound loss,” said Yakshataranga Bengaluru (R) in a press release.

Heard Chinmayi's relative on TV saying that she had no intention of going to the stadium. She's not a cricket follower , it was her friends who pressured her. This is also a lesson you need to say no when friends push you to go to crowded places."

All need to be careful, avoid large crowd, including late night parties. When kali yugha to satya yugha? or Second Coming of Jesus which is less than a decade away, these things are bound to happen. So dont loose life unnecessarily. Self Control is the need of the hour.

I am a fan of RCB from the day, IPL started, I have watched live from TV, the celebration of victory march in Bangalore stadium. Do not understand, why CM Siddu, Minister Zameer's children are on the stage? In spite of police not given the consent for the victory march, the State government, have given the permission for this victory march. When uneducated politicians occupy the top chair, this type of incidents bound to occur as they only know to blame and give damn to citizen's life. I am very angry with the government , when young boys and girls, have lost their life because of government's mistake. This tragedy has happened to common man, not politicians' family

The presence of ministers' children on stage is a result of privilege — something commonly extended to politicians and the wealthy. While it’s undeniably tragic that lives were lost, it’s important to recognize that this tragedy wasn’t forced upon anyone. As far as we know, most of those involved were adults who made the choice to attend. This wasn’t like a stampede at a railway station where people have no control over the situation. Attendees had the option to avoid large crowds or find safer spaces. There was negligence, certainly — but it wasn’t one-sided. Responsibility lies not just with the organizers like RCB or the government, but also with the crowd itself. It’s not fair to pin the blame entirely on one party.

Friends this IPL just money making business, please don't involve just focus for your goal. your life is valuable for your family, old cricketers just played for our country not for money. these days cricketers all are playing only for glamour and money. please don't watch cricket if really interested just watch Football 1 hour game only.

A South Canarian should remain stick on to his/her roots and such things will not happen. People worship is not there in our region. Take cricket/movies only for entertainment, don't give your heart and soul into it.

Time to introspect,is it really worth a penny to run behind these people. They get fame n fortune, but people lose precious lives. Also never seen people run behind our armed forces who protect our borders n keep us safe. Give it a thought, maybe in near future things may not get worse.

People from Byndoor to Sulia (Tulunadu) do not run behind celebrities. That is why no film personalities come here for film promotion, trailer release, film release, audio release. Even if they come hardly 50 people will gather. Chinmayi Shetty demise is unfortunate. She should have stayed away from this useless celebrities. They are of no use to society.

IPL is a money game. The franchise owners and players make big money and no benefits to common man. They play, make money and go. Common man's struggle continues. Tragedy is that, no Karnataka players in the team and our government boasts of victory. They played and they got money .just watch the match and forget. Why al these celebrations?.why government is giving permissions?. Family lost their bread winner and country lost a talent. Can the government give her life back?. It was totally an un organised event with no safety protocols. For IPL it's just one year gone and next year they will be busy with business. Will they remember departed souls or take care of their family...No..,... RIP sister...
