Mangaluru, Jun 3: Bejai Church's commission for youth organized 'Youth Meet 2K25,' a half-day programme aimed at uniting and empowering the youth of Bejai parish. The event took place on Sunday, June 1, in the audio-visual room of Lourdes Central School.

The event saw the participation of 100 enthusiastic young people from all 24 wards of the parish. As a part of the inauguration, youth representatives from each ward came forward to paste their ward's name on a board adorned with photos of 24 active youth holding placards around the church. Later, Fr John Baptist Saldanha, the parish priest of Bejai church inaugurated the event in a symbolic and meaningful way by unveiling the 'Youth Meet 2K25' title. This symbolic gesture highlighted the unity, diversity, and participation of the youth in the daily parish life and its activities, showcasing them as a united community.

The programme began with an engaging icebreaking session led by Fr Johnson Sequeira, followed by an insightful and interactive session by Fr Peter Mascarenhas. His talk focused on guiding the youth in building meaningful lives rooted in values, faith, and responsibility. Fr Norman John Mathias, the assistant parish priest, then conducted a few lucky games, providing a time of relaxation and fun for everyone.

The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, offered for the intentions of the youth and celebrated by Fr J B Saldanha. To make the day even more memorable, a lucky draw was held, where five participants received colorful jumbo umbrellas sponsored by the vice president, Ashok Pinto. Lunch and ice cream were served at the end of the programme.
