London, Jun 2: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi sharply contrasted India’s global approach with Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism during her visit to London as part of an all-party delegation highlighting India’s perspective following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Addressing the issue, Chaturvedi said, “While India had a very successful G20 presidency focusing on trade and diplomacy, Pakistan hosts the ‘T20’ — the top 20 terrorists of the world.” She accused Pakistan of making terrorism a state policy, relentlessly providing sanctuary and support to militants.
Chaturvedi criticised Islamabad’s priorities, stating, “India is focused on trade, economy, and commerce, while Pakistan arranges free passage for terrorists worldwide. This must be exposed.” Referring to the 2011 US raid that killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, she alleged Pakistan actively financed and hid the terrorist despite its alliance with the US.
Highlighting India’s military response, she praised the May 7 Operation Sindoor strike on terror camps in Pakistan, which reportedly eliminated over 100 terrorists and averted numerous potential attacks globally. “The world should thank the Indian armed forces for their decisive action,” she said.
Chaturvedi also condemned a speech by Pakistan’s then Army chief General Asim Munir, delivered days before the Pahalgam attack, which touched on religious differences. She emphasised that over 200 million Indian Muslims stand united with the government against terrorism.
Recalling the April 22 terror attack where 26 civilians were killed after being asked their religion, Chaturvedi said, “The attackers hoped to divide the nation, but India stands united. Our strength lies in our diversity, which we proudly celebrate.”
Her remarks underline the ongoing tension between the two neighbours, with India spotlighting Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism while reaffirming its commitment to unity and peace.
