Unlawful protest staged in front of Kadaba police station; case registered against 15 persons

Kadaba, Jun 2: A case has been registered against 15 individuals for staging an unlawful protest in front of the Kadaba police station on the night of June 1 without obtaining prior permission.

The protest was reportedly held in opposition to precautionary measures being taken by the police, who have been verifying the background of key members of various organisations in an effort to maintain law and order across Dakshina Kannada district.

Those named in the FIR include Pramod Rai of Nanduguri, Tilak of Nanduguri, Mohan of Kerekodi, Chandrashekar of Noojibalthila, Mahesh of Kutruppadi, Deekayya of Noojibalthila, Sujith of Kutruppadi, Sharath of Nanduguri, Shreyath of Nanduguri, Umesh of Noojibalthila, Radhakrishna K, Jayanth, and three others.

Kadaba police have registered a case under IPC sections 189(2) and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, citing unlawful assembly and protest without official sanction.
