Vasai, May 31: The Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVMC) announced on Friday that its bus services will provide a 50% fare concession to women passengers starting June 1. This move covers areas including Vasai, Virar, and Nalasopara in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
VVMC Commissioner Anil Kumar Pawar said the initiative aligns with the state government’s policy of offering half-price fares to women passengers.
Vasai MLA Sneha DubeyPandit had previously raised the issue of fare relief with officials and ministers, contributing to the decision.
