Suspicious envelopes sent to Israeli embassies in France and Belgium under investigation

Daijiworld Media Network - Jerusalem

Jerusalem, May 31: An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that “suspicious envelopes” were delivered to the Israeli embassies in France and Belgium. Both packages were promptly subjected to thorough security screenings to determine their contents and ensure safety.

The Israeli embassy in Paris reported that police examined the suspicious letter and later declared it harmless.

This incident follows a similar case last month when a suspicious envelope was received at the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in West Jerusalem. According to the Hebrew news outlet Walla, security protocols were immediately activated, involving an explosives unit and the temporary closure of entrances to the site as a precautionary measure.

Authorities continue to maintain vigilance amid these security concerns.
