Chhattisgarh, May 21: A major breakthrough was achieved by security forces as they killed over 26 Naxalites in a fierce encounter deep in the forests bordering Narayanpur and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Among the deceased were reportedly several top Naxal cadres, dealing a significant blow to the insurgent network operating in the region.

While the security operation was largely successful, it came with a cost. One police supporter lost his life, and a police jawan sustained injuries during the intense gunfight, said Home Minister Sharma, who oversees the state’s law and order.
The authorities have intensified combing operations and are still conducting searches to ensure no militants remain active in the area.
This encounter marks a critical moment in the ongoing anti-Naxal efforts by the Chhattisgarh police and paramilitary forces, aimed at restoring peace and stability to the troubled region.
