Ahmedabad, May 20: In a major update ahead of the business end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced that the IPL final will be played in Ahmedabad on June 3, along with Qualifier 2. The first two playoff matches qualifier 1 and the eliminator will be held in Mullanpur on May 29 and 30.
The revised schedule comes in the wake of disruptions caused by the India-Pakistan military conflict, which halted the tournament for a week. Originally, Hyderabad and Kolkata were set to host the playoffs.

Adding to the adjustments, the BCCI has shifted the May 23 league match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad from Bengaluru to Lucknow due to monsoon-related concerns. The previous fixture at Chinnaswamy Stadium was abandoned due to rain.
“The new venues for the Playoffs were decided by the IPL Governing Council keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters,” said the BCCI in an official statement.
It further noted that an additional one hour will be allocated to playing conditions for all remaining league stage matches starting Tuesday, May 20.
Ahmedabad, which successfully hosted the IPL finals in 2022 and 2023, will once again serve as the stage for the grand finale this year.
