Mangaluru, May 16: BJP North Mandal workers staged a black flag protest against the chief minister, demanding a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the murder of Suhas Shetty. Alleging involvement of extremist elements and suspecting the role of the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI), the protestors strongly called for central agency intervention in the investigation.
The protestors claimed that the murder of Suhas bore the signs of a planned extremist attack and urged the state government to ensure justice for the victim’s family. They also demanded that the government announce compensation for Suhas’s family.

As the protest intensified, police intervened and detained the protestors.
