Bengaluru, May 16: Bringing cheer to thousands of educators across Karnataka, the state government has announced a hike in the honorarium for guest teachers and lecturers working in government primary, high schools, and pre-university colleges.
As per the official order issued on Wednesday, the monthly honorarium has been increased by Rs 2,000 for all categories of guest educators. The new rates come into immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.
With the latest revision:
- Guest teachers in primary schools will now receive Rs 12,000 per month.
- Guest teachers in high schools (referred to as medical school teachers in the order) will be paid Rs 12,500 per month.
- Guest lecturers in government pre-university colleges will receive Rs 14,000 per month.
This move is being widely welcomed by the teaching fraternity, many of whom have long been demanding fairer compensation for their contributions to the state's education system.
The government's decision is expected to boost morale and provide financial relief to thousands of temporary teaching staff who play a key role in bridging faculty gaps in Karnataka’s public education sector.
