Vasco, May 15: A 47-year-old railway worker, Anand Naik from Guirim, Mapusa, tragically succumbed to his injuries at Goa Medical College (GMC) in Bambolim after a train accident inside the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) premises.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 29 around 3:30 p.m. while Naik was on duty at the RND Yard near MPA Gate No. 9. A preliminary investigation indicates that Naik accidentally came in contact with a moving train on Track No. 4, resulting in severe injuries to his right arm.
