Mangaluru, May 14: In a significant breakthrough, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested three individuals in connection with the murder of Suhas Shetty, which took place under the jurisdiction of Bajpe police station on May 1.
The arrested accused have been identified as Azaruddin alias Azhar alias Ajju (29), resident of Kallavaru Ashraya Colony, Kallavaru village, Mangaluru; Abdul Khader alias Noufal (24), resident of Badriya Nagar, Belapu, Kaup, Udupi district; currently residing in Bajpe, Mangaluru; and Naushad alias Vamanjoor Noushad alias Chotte Naushad (39), resident of Farangipete, Bantwal taluk, currently residing in K R Puram, Hassan district.

Police revealed that Azaruddin has three prior theft cases registered against him in Panambur, Surathkal, and Mulki police stations. He is said to have played a key role in tracking the movements of Suhas Shetty and supplying this information to the killers, thus facilitating the murder.
Abdul Khader alias Noufal allegedly assisted the main accused in fleeing the crime scene by car after the murder had taken place.
Naushad alias Vamanjoor Naushad alias Chotte Naushad is believed to have conspired with the others and directly participated in the killing. He has a criminal background with six previous cases, including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to rob, registered against him in Surathkal, Bajpe, Moodbidri, Mangaluru North, and Bantwal Rural police stations.
The arrested individuals were produced before a magistrate. While Azaruddin has been remanded to judicial custody, the police have secured seven-day custody of Abdul Khader and Naushad for further investigation.
Police stated that the investigation into the murder of Suhas Shetty is ongoing, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest additional accused persons involved in the case.
