Karkala: Youth receives suspicious WhatsApp message from Pak-based number

Karkala, May 10: A youth from Karkala reportedly received a suspicious WhatsApp message from a Pakistan-based number on Saturday, May 10, prompting immediate concern.

The youth promptly informed the authorities, who have since taken the matter seriously.

Following the report, the Udupi district police have issued a public advisory, urging citizens to remain cautious. “Do not respond to suspicious messages or links from international numbers. Do not share personal information or OTPs under any circumstances,” the advisory warned.

The police have emphasized the importance of vigilance in the face of potential cyber threats and encouraged the public to report any such incidents immediately.
