Panaji, May 10: The Congress party on Saturday organised a Tiranga Yatra in the capital to pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery in the ongoing conflict with Pakistan, particularly in light of the success of Operation Sindoor.

Senior Congress leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, MLAs Carlos Alvares-Ferreira and Altone D'Costa, South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes, and GPCC president Amit Patkar, led the march alongside hundreds of party workers to the 2STC headquarters.

In a statement, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) expressed deep gratitude to the armed forces, stating, “We proudly salute the courage and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces for the successful completion of Operation Sindoor.”

The party further emphasized that national security transcends political lines, asserting, “At this crucial time, GPCC and the Indian National Congress stand firmly behind our government and our armed forces. When it comes to the security of our country, there should be no politics — only unity.”

The yatra served as both a show of solidarity and a call for national cohesion as the nation faces heightened cross-border tensions.
