Bengaluru, May 7: Karnataka BJP president and MLA B Y Vijayendra on Wednesday declared that India has united behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country’s armed forces following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
Addressing a protest rally under the BJP’s ‘Janakrosh Yatra’ against the ruling Congress government, Vijayendra said, “PM Modi has taken bold steps to strike back at the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack. The entire nation stands firmly with him and our brave soldiers.”
Vijayendra urged BJP workers and the public to visit temples across the state and offer prayers for the strength and success of Indian armed forces. “Let us pray for divine power to uproot terrorism completely. May the world bless our Prime Minister with greater strength,” he said.
Criticising the Congress government, he labelled it “anti-people, anti-farmer, anti-poor, and anti-Hindu,” and vowed to continue the BJP’s fight until the government is overthrown.
Calling for national unity, Vijayendra stated, “All Indians must rise above political differences and show solidarity with our soldiers. Even Congress must send a clear message of unity to the world.”
He warned Pakistan against provoking India again, stating terrorists and their safe havens must be eliminated permanently. “For the BJP, the nation always comes first. We must extend full support to our soldiers, both emotionally and morally,” he added.
Quoting BJP founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Vijayendra said, “Ek desh mein do nishan, do pradhan nahi chalega.” He recalled Mukherjee’s sacrifice for national unity and praised PM Modi for working to end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Vijayendra further alleged that the Congress party’s “double standards and anti-national policies” had emboldened terrorists and caused widespread suffering, including the displacement of Kashmiri Hindus and the deaths of thousands of soldiers.
He concluded by expressing confidence in the Modi-led government’s ability to protect India’s borders and uphold national security.
