Bengaluru, Apr 30: A fierce political exchange has erupted between the BJP and the Congress in Karnataka following the disruption of chief minister Siddaramaiah’s speech at a recent convention by BJP's women workers.
Reacting sharply to the incident, deputy chief minister and Congress state president D K Shivakumar warned that if such disruptions continued, the BJP would not be allowed to hold even a single meeting in the state. "This is a pledge of the Congress party," he asserted.

In a swift counterattack, the BJP recalled that Siddaramaiah had once shown black flags to then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi before joining the Congress. Taking a jibe, Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka questioned whether Shivakumar had the courage to expel Siddaramaiah from the party for his past act.
“Your threats seem bold before cameras, but do you have the guts to remove someone who showed black flags to your party's tallest leader?” Ashoka asked, calling Shivakumar’s stance hypocritical.
The heated exchange follows protests triggered by Siddaramaiah's recent ‘no war with Pakistan’ remarks, which drew sharp criticism from BJP leaders. As tensions escalate, both parties appear to be digging in their heels ahead of the upcoming electoral battles.
