Mumbai, Jan 20: John D’Silva, veteran of the co-operative movement in the metro and Konkani protagonist, was elected president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Maharashtra, during the annual general body meeting held on Wednesday January 18.

Albert D'Souza, Henry Lobo and Lawrence D'Souza

Albert W D’Souza, a renowned entrepreneur and educationist, was elected vice-president, Henry Lobo, chairman, Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Konkani dramatist and writer Lawrence D’Souza-Kamani, as general secretary.
 
Konkani Bhasha Mandal Maharashtra is the oldest institution working for the cause of Konkani language and culture.
 
P N Shanbhag, Benedicta Rebello, Peter D’Souza, Walter D’Souza, Victor Concessao, Cyprian Albuquerque, Stanley Dias, Cyril Castelino, Vincent Castelino, Alphonse D’Souza, Kenneth Zuzarte, Sudhir Kodkani, and Betty Nazareth are the committee members.
