Karkala, Mar 13: Leena Britto officially assumed charge as the new chief officer of Karkala town Municipality on Thursday, March 13. A native of Virajpet, she previously served as the chief officer of Bantwal Municipality.
Leena Britto has extensive experience in municipal administration, having served in Puttur, Sullia, and Mudigere municipalities before her tenure in Bantwal.
She was instrumental in implementing a permanent solution for waste management in Bantwal, ensuring efficient waste segregation and disposal. Her efforts in waste management were widely appreciated by the public.
Meanwhile, Roopa T Shetty, who previously held the position of chief officer at Karkala municipality, has been transferred as the community development officer in Moodbidri. She had taken charge as Karkala municipality’s chief officer in May 2021.
