Jaipur, Jan 9: Indians residing abroad have given their unanimous support to Anna Hazare and his anti-corrruption campaign as they were well impressed by his ideologies. Hazare and his campaign recieved a good amount of support from the people of Indian origin (PIO) who attended the Pravasi Bharitya Divas 2012.

The NRIs firmly believe that the highly rampant corruption and corrupt bureaucracy was being a major hindrance in partnering with the government working on an inclusive growth approach so far and Anna Hazare has now emerged as a voice to the common man.

Hemant D Henry Patel, chairman, Asian American Hotel Owners Association in the second plenary session on “Business partnering for prosperity” chaired by former minister Shashi Tharoor spoke in favour of the Lokpal Bill which would help to curb corruption at all levels both in the public and private sectors.

He questioned, “Even US president Bill Clinton had to face impeachment; then why is the Indian government afraid of including the prime minister and senior administrative officers under ambit of Lokpal. They are not above law.” “Bring the change and we guarantee you to bring the NRIs to India,” he said.

Also the other NRIs attending the session expressed their gratitude to Anna for having taken up initiatives against corruption. “At least Anna took the Initiative. People were on streets as they have no other option,” said Munish Gupta of Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin.

Shashi Tharoor who was mediating the talks at the session, said, “At least there is one man in this country who has raised his voice against corruption. Today the nation and people of Indian origin living across the world are with him.”

ANTI-CORRUPTION MOVEMENT AS LONG AS IT STANDS ABOVE PARTY POLITICS IT IS VERY GOOD.BUT WHEN IT SUPPORTS OR OPPOSES ANY POLITICAL PARTY IT WILL LOSE ITS CREDIBILITY.NO POLITICAL PARTY IS INTERESTED TO PASS A STRONG OR WEAK LOKPALBILL BECAUSE ALL POLITICAL PARTIES ARE FILLED WITH CURRUPT POLITICIAN.TO PASS THE LOKPALBILL IN THE PRESENT POLITICAL SITUATION SUPPORT OF CONGRESS AND BJP IS A MUST.BUT AS LONG AS BJP IN THE OPPOSITION IT WILL OPPOSE THE BILL TO HAVE POLITICAL GAINS AND CONGRESS MAY DO THE SAME WHEN IT OCCUPIES THE OPPOSITION POST.AS ON NOW LOKPAL BILL WILL BE USED BY ALL THE POLITICAL PARTIES FOR POLITICAL GAINS.THANKS TO ANNA HAZARE....

It is a matter of pride that NRI's who are probably minimally impacted by the nauseating levels of corruption in india are still standing by Annaji. It is equally shamefull that many Resident Indians wish to appear very white collared and upmarket by speaking about the supremacy of the parliament and its elected representatives. It is this same set of people who are borrowing this country hollow and who continue to receive support from some very enlightened RI's. Shame on you guys. Please ask yourself one question. Is India not a land of utterly corrupt people and the roots of this start from the parliament and its khadi clad occupants? If yes then for once come out and support this 74 year old man who is fighting a selfless battle. Else continue voting for the people whom you have been voting for and stop complaining about corruption. I do not know how successful this movement will be. But at the end of the day, I can sleep and die peacefully because, I MADE AN EFFORT. Have you RI's also made an effort?

Bill Clinton hurt the prudish Christian morality of America where deviant sexual norms are acceptable. Never heard a word on George Bush?
Why is America being set up as an example to be emulated?
