Mumbai: Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh to Organize Journo Meet on Jan 26

Mumbai, Dec 30: The Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra ®, will organize a friendly, interactive programme for representatives of all India Kannada journalists’ associations at Devadiga Centre, Dadar (East), on Thursday January 26.

Karnataka Media Academy president M A Ponnappa will inaugurate the programme here on Thursday morning.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palettady will preside over the programme.

Doordarshan Patrakara Sangha Mumbai president and Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangha vice-president Sasikant Sandbhor will be the chief guests on the occasion.

Devadiga Sangh Mumbai president Hiriyadka Mohandas and Mumbai University head of Kannada department Dr G N Upadhya will be the guest of honour, stated Sadanand D Nayak, vice-president, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.

“Daya Sagar Chowta, secretary, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra, will speak on the topic ‘Mumbai Journalism: Sustenance – Value’, Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association president Gangadhar Mudaliar will speak on ‘Facilities in Karnataka for Kannada Journalism in Other States: Grievances – Address’, ‘Prajavani’ Kannada daily’s New Delhi senior correspondent Nanjunde Gowda H J will speak on ‘Limits of Kannada Journalism in Rest of India: Jurisdiction – Solution’, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association president P B Harish Rai will speak on media representatives and government / co-ordination of media organizations, Press Club of Mangalore president Anand K Shetty will speak on ‘Kannada Journalism in Karnataka / Maharashtra’, Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association president Kiran Manjanabail will speak on journalists and organizations,” stated G P Kusuma, honorary treasurer, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.

“A musical extravaganza by Vibha N R Mangalore will be held on Thursday afternoon. Discussions on the need for recognition by Karnataka state administration to Kannada journalists working across the country, and inviting Kannada journalists serving in other states to attend Kannada programmes in motherland Karnataka, will be held on Thursday evening,” stated Rons Bantwal, honorary chief secretary, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.
