Hazare Greeted with Black Flags Ahead of Protest

Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS): Anna Hazare was greeted with black flags soon after he came out of a government guest house in Bandra here to proceed to Juhu beach to launch his three-day hunger strike Tuesday morning.

Nearly two dozen people showed black flags and shouted slogans as security personnel whisked them out of his route.

The protesters began waving the black flags when Hazare's motorcade halted at a traffic signal in Kala Nagar Chowk, Bandra east, near the guest house.

The stage is set for Hazare's three-day agitation as the Maharashtra government and security personnel prepared to make it a hassle-free affair.

A Team Anna member said Hazare has already begun his fast in the morning but would first pray at the Gandhi statue in Juhu before proceeding in a rally to Bandra-Kurla Complex's MMRDA ground -- the protest venue.

Mumbaikars are expected to join Team Anna activists and supporters in the rally in large numbers.
