Dubai, Dec 24 (Emirates 24 x 7): A French manager attempted to kill his girlfriend when she broke relationship with him by running his car over her, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Thursday.

AI, 43, is accused of premeditated murder by running over the body of his beloved after she told him she will break the relation leaving her with 100 per cent rate of disability.

The victim LKJ, 35, Norwegian, partner, testified that she was in love with the accused since March 2007 and she knows that he is married.

“He told me that he will divorce his wife. Later I found out that he will not divorce his wife so I asked him to make a decision between us. He tried to meet me several times and agreed to discuss the matter over a dinner on September 15, 2009. We had strong argument about the future of our relationship and at around 12 midnight he decided to drop me home. As we reached at my house, another argument broke out during which I told him you are the looser.

“As he realised that I am breaking up the relationship, he left his seat and rushed towards me. He pulled me out of the car on to the street hurting my shoulder badly. He rushed again to his seat and drove his car back and ran over my legs. He tried to repeat that but at that time I could pull my body from the direction of his car. I called the police and informed them about the incident and called him but he hanged up the phone before switching off his mobile,” she testified.

The records show that the victim underwent surgeries and therapies for two years from the incident to enable her walking, but all that did not help and she still remains crippled with limited movement in her right shoulder in addition to nervous and psychological problems.
