Rod Marsh is Manager of Australia's Cricket Coaches

Melbourne, Dec 22 (IANS): Former Australian wicketkeeper Rodney Marsh has been appointed manager of the country's cricket coaches.

The newly-created role of the former head coach of the Global Academy in Dubai and Australian and English academies is in line with the recommendations of the Argus review.

The Australian will be responsible for developing an elite coaching philosophy and guiding overall coaching strategy, Cricket Australia said announcing Marsh's appointment Wednesday.

Marsh, a part-time selector on the national selection panel, will work closely with Australia coach Mickey Arthur, centre of excellence head coach Troy Cooley and state and junior coaches.

Marsh, who played 96 Tests and 92 one-day matches for Australia, said he was looking forward to the job.

"It will be a nice fit with my position on the national selection panel," he said.
