Mumbai: Rangabhoomi Fine Arts Cricket Team Bags ‘KVAPL – 2011’ Trophy

Mumbai, Dec 20: The cricket team of Rangabhoomi Fine Arts, Navi Mumbai, bagged the ‘Karnataka Vishwakarma Association Premier League (KVAPL) – 2011’ trophy during the cricket matches held at Sports Authority of India grounds, Kandivali (East) on Saturday December 17.

Mogaveera Vyavaspaka Mandali were the runners-up among 14 teams that participated from across the metro.

Rangabhoomi Fine Arts player Praveen Shetty bagged ‘Man of the Series’ award and Sandeep Shetty was adjudged best batsman.  Mogaveera Vyavastapaka Mandali player Ashwin was adjudged top fielder and Mahesh the top bowler.

Entrepreneur Padubidri Bhaskar Acharya was the chief guest during the prize distribution ceremony held on Saturday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Acharya said that ‘KVAPL– 2011’ has given an opportunity for Tulu – Kannadiga players to share their passion for cricket besides getting to know each other.

Mumbai High Court lawyer and notary Sudhakar N Acharya lauded the youth wing of Karnataka Vishwakarma Association for organizing KVAPL to encourage youth in exploring sports talent.

Gokulanand Hotel proprietor Rajesh Acharya, KVAPL organizer G T Acharya, Association youth wing president Nitin Acharya, conveners Rajesh Acharya and Madhukar Acharya, secretary Prasad Acharya and Pradeep Acharya were present on the dais.

Bhaskar Acharya presented KVAPL trophy and cash award of Rs 25,555 to Rangabhoomi Fine Arts team.

Rajesh Acharya presented KVAPL runner-up trophy and cash award of Rs 18,888 to Mogaveera Vyavastapaka Mandali team  

Association president Nitte Damodar Acharya presided over the programme.

Prasad Acharya compered the programme.  Madhukar Acharya proposed the vote of thanks. Entrepreneur Madhav S Acharya sponsored the cricket team of the association.
