Indian Triumphs in India-Pakistan Wrestling Tourney


Islamabad, Nov 24 (IANS): India emerged victorious in a three-phase tournament that saw burly Pakistani and Indian wrestlers pitted against each other.

Indian wrestler Sutander Singh defeated Pakistani wrestler Imran Ali Pattawala from Gujranwala, reported Geo News.

The three-phased wrestling tournament was held in Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad.

The third round of the Pakistan-India wrestling competition was held at Faisalabad town's Iqbal Stadium Wednesday.

It was a third victory for Singh in the tournament. He had won the second phase Tuesday by defeating Shahid Khoaewala and in the first phase, Singh defeated Jani Pehlwan.

The wrestling matches have been hugely popular with a large crowd seeing the tournament in Gujranwala city Nov 19.
